Student Council Elections

The student council held their election for president, vice president, secretary, and reporter. The students running for office put up posters throughout the school, handed out candy, cookies and gum, and gave speeches during the morning announcements. On November 2nd, all 3rd and 4th grade students voted at the voting booth for their candidate. When the results were tallied the winners were: Hannah Miller for President; Seth Widick for Vice-President; Dawson Brown for Secretary and Maddie Humble for Reporter. When asked about what they were going to do as Student Council Officers they had this to say:

Hannah Miller is a student in Mrs. Tammy Clayton's class. As president she would like to see the students have a pj day once a month, more recycling containers around the school, and all children have an additional 10 minutes a week of recess.

Seth Widick is a student in Ms. Joan Steakley's class. As vice-president he plans to support Hannah Miller's ideas.

Dawson Brown is a student in Mrs. Melissa Richardson's class. He was the spelling bee champion in 2nd grade, has straight As and plans to work very hard this year on student council.

Maddie Humble is a student in Mrs. Holley Layne's class. As reporter she plans to write some juicy stories and do really cool stuff. She is a very good speller who has all 100s on her spelling tests this year.

We are very proud of all the student who ran for office. We would like to thank Mrs. Pendergrass for her hard work in making the election rule smoothly. Congratulations to the students who won!
